Clinical Hypnotherapy

Like many other therapies, to get the most out of your sessions it’s important to find someone who is the right match for you. The first step most people take is to type hypnotherapist into a search engine, however that will result in a large number of results.

How do you know that the therapist is the right one for you?
How do you know that the person you are choosing to see is properly trained?

Many therapists will offer an initial short conversation to discuss your needs, also you can check out the hypnotherapy associations to see if your hypnotherapist is registered with them.

Hypnotherapy FAQ's

Hypnosis, also referred to as hypnotherapy, is a deep state of relaxation in which you have heightened focus and concentration. When you’re under hypnosis, you usually feel calm and relaxed, and it is a normal, natural and healthy state of mind.

Throughout the day there are many times when our minds naturally slip into this state of deep relaxation, without even realising you are doing it. For example, when you stare into space and find yourself thinking about nothing or when you drive somewhere and are thinking about something and then don’t remember how you got there.

Your mind has two levels, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind levels. Thinking, making decision and doing things is done by your conscious mind. You make decisions, think, and act with your conscious mind. Your subconscious is like the hard drive of your computer – it’s the part of your mind that runs those programs that we call habits.

In the relaxed state known as hypnosis we can communicate directly with your subconscious mind and help it to change its program and patterning to develop newer, healthier habits and behaviours. That’s why it’s so quick and easy to change lifelong beliefs and habits using hypnotic techniques.

Like coaching, the number of sessions depends on the individuals situation, and sessions required can range from one to a maximum of six.
